To all Silver Hills beaders, just an update on the weeks work.
I have just returned from another successful buying trip and just wait for the new goods to arrive, the goods was picked up from my client today!
Every time I travel I have to reinvent myself and the company. We have to determine what our customers want and what only we can supply. I am always looking for the unusual product that can be made into good design. Just yesterday one of my clients came into our shop with a Silver Hills Gems component creation and she looked stunning. She was selling these in the Caribbean Islands for good money.
What did I buy this time? I bought loads of the Chinese crystal glass beads with the high shine. The previous time I struggled to get the clear ones that we always use. This time I was lucky enough to get plenty of them straight from the factory. And boy do they shine!
I stocked up on the stone pendants such as roses in rose quartz. I discovered a new supplier with stunning hearts in stone. I had such a feast buying from him.
And then I was looking for new findings. I am so bored with the same stuff that I always buy. I am so excited to tell all of you that I found the new supplier. I am just afraid that I did not buy enough of all the new items because they will not be in stock for any length of time.
I wish you could see all the fine pearls I bought. I focused on special pearls. The pearl roundels is such a fine quality. I also got a lot of great baroque pearls with amazing shine. I also bought pearls that are half drilled for the DIY person who wants to make their own pearl jewellery.
For the shop I bought 31 geodes. A Brazilian company was closing their doors in Hong Kong and I got the geodes for the same price that I would pay at the mine in Brazil. I am such a lucky man. "The more I travel the luckier I get"
I also bought a few bags of red coral, black lave beads, coloured tigers tail beading wire and inexpensive shell bracelets and pearl rings.
Meanwhile we are listing new items every day. Let me tell you what we listed this week.
I am listing copper findings. Yes real copper. Have a look for the words copper. I have had so many ask me for copper. Let's see how it goes.
Then you must check out the large metal beads. Some are huge! This might be the new best thing here at Silver Hills. A lady from Tanzania bought 50 and 100 of each kind. She definitely saw the potential in this new range.
I was lucky enough to get some '"Sand dollar sized pyrite, with gold-like "rays" in the shape of a rising sun. Mineral experts originally theorized that Pyrite Suns were fossilized sand dollars or even ancient lily pads that had been replaced by pyrite. More recently though, mineralogists have speculated that they're actually pyrite concretions which, because they formed between layers of slate, simply had no room to grow into the cubical formations one would normally expect to find. It was formed 350 million years ago in a thin seam of slate above a coal deposit in what is now southern Illinois. A wonderful gift for kids and adults alike! " I only have 12 of these.
Today we are listing 925 silver rings and a mineral collection with the most delectable specimens at very good prices. Do not miss them. They will n ot last the weekend in my shop.
